The Wood Brothers to Perform at Lexington Opera House on Tuesday, August 25, 2026
LEXINGTON, KY (March 24, 2026) –– On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, The Wood Brothers return to the Lexington Opera House. Dubbed "masters of soulful folk" by Paste, The Wood Brothers formed after brothers Chris and Oliver Wood pursued separate musical careers for 15 years. Chris already had legions of devoted fans for his incomparable work as one-third of Medeski Martin & Wood, while Oliver’s band King Johnson built a loyal following in the South. With drummer Jano Rix added as a permanent third member, The Wood Brothers have evolved into one of roots music’s most revered acts, playing sold-out shows across North America, garnering a Grammy Award nomination, and releasing nine studio albums, including their recent release, Puff of Smoke.
Less a literal soundtrack to uncertain times or a roadmap showing how to live through them, Puff of Smoke posits a happily contrarian outlook: Life can turn on a dime, and all we truly have is the moment at hand.
