Kentucky Cannabis Industry Alliance Announces Free Cannabis & Wellness Expo at Central Bank Center on September 19, 2026

LEXINGTON, KY (September 4, 2026) – The Kentucky Cannabis Industry Alliance (KCIA) will host the Kentucky Cannabis & Wellness Expo on Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Central Bank Center in Lexington. The free community event will bring together patients, prospective patients, healthcare professionals, medical cannabis businesses, and community organizations for a day focused on education, access, and Kentucky's medical cannabis program. The Expo is open to the public, and a medical cannabis card is not required to attend.
Throughout the day, attendees will have an opportunity to connect with dispensaries, Kentucky cultivators and processors, healthcare professionals, and community partners while learning more about the state's medical cannabis industry. The event will also feature educational panels and discussions with industry professionals covering topics relevant to patients, prospective patients, and those interested in understanding Kentucky's developing medical cannabis program.
"Our goal with the Kentucky Cannabis & Wellness Expo is to demystify the medical cannabis process and build a supportive community for Kentuckians," says Rachel Roberts, Executive Director of the Kentucky Cannabis Industry Alliance. "Many eligible residents simply don't know where to start or find the certification path intimidating. By bringing together licensed practitioners, educational panels, and industry leaders under one roof—and offering $25 consultations on-site—we're breaking down barriers to access so patients can get the clear guidance, care, and community they deserve."
Low-Cost Medical Cannabis Certifications Available On-Site
As part of the Expo, KCIA will host an on-site low-cost patient drive offering $25 medical cannabis certifications for new and renewing patients.
In partnership with Kentucky Marijuana Card, licensed medical cannabis practitioners, notaries, and patient support will be available on-site, allowing eligible patients to complete the certification and application process in one convenient visit. Patients will be able to meet with a practitioner for their evaluation and certification, complete required notarization and receive assistance submitting their application through Kentucky's medical cannabis portal.
The certification cost is $25. An additional $25 state application fee is required when submitting an application to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Appointments for the low-cost patient drive are encouraged and can be reserved in advance.
