Five Events; Over 40,000 patrons!

LEXINGTON, KY (March 2, 2020) – Central Bank Center had an action packed weekend with five different events that brought an estimated 44,000 patrons into downtown Lexington.

There was something for every taste in entertainment: from horses to hip-hop, basketball to Americana ballads and a concert featuring two of Kentucky’s hottest national headliners.

Easing into the weekend with acoustic folk music, the acclaimed duo, Drew and Ellie Holcomb, performed to a huge crowd at the Lexington Opera House on Wednesday night.

The EAGALA Annual Equine Conference set the pace in the Convention Center on Thursday - Saturday, with 2,000 attendees from 18 countries.

Kentucky born-and-raised music superstars Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers ignited Lexington on Friday night with a sold-out concert at Rupp Arena that brought in over 15,000 avid fans.

Saturday saw 20,000 basketball enthusiasts witness the UK Wildcats defeat the ranked Auburn Tigers to clinch the SEC regular season in Rupp Arena.

The No Limits Soldier Reunion Tour took the stage at the arena on Sunday night, filling the rafters with the sound of 90s hip hop legends Master P, Silkk TheShocker, Mystikal, Fiend and Mia X.

According to Bill Owen, Lexington Center Corporation CEO and President, “Due to the hard work of all of our employees and our partnership with Oak View Group and Live Nation Arenas, we are proud that all of our venues were busy with entertainment for all demographics and fans of all kinds.  And the best part is, even in our 44th year of operation, we are just getting started!”
