Shepherd, a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum guitarist and bandleader, has been redefining the blues since his 1995 debut, Ledbetter Heights. Born in North Louisiana in 1977 and raised steeped in classic blues and rock ‘n’ roll, he quickly developed a signature guitar tone and performance style, honed during years on the road before he was even old enough to drink in the clubs he played.
Shepherd’s career has been defined by both technical mastery and soulful storytelling, from his breakthrough hit Blue On Black to the Grammy-nominated Ten Days Out: Blues From The Backroads, as well as collaborations with legends like Stephen Stills and Barry Goldberg. At a time when mainstream music is polished, quantized, and airbrushed of soul, Kenny Wayne Shepherd catches eight shards of honest human emotion and serves them up raw for an audience that needs real music more than ever. “I just feel a responsibility to make the best music I can make,” he concludes. “And I’m really excited to see what’s gonna happen with these songs when we take them out on the road…”
