LEXINGTON, KY (March 20, 2019) – There are multiple events happening in downtown Lexington over the weekend, so patrons are advised to plan ahead.

These events are scheduled to take place at Lexington Center venues:

  • The annual Lexington Comic and Toy Convention (“Comic Con”) event will be take place at the Lexington Convention Center and Rupp Arena starting Thursday from 6pm-10pm; Friday, 12pm – 8pm, Saturday, 10am – 7pm and Sunday, 10am – 4pm. Anticipated attendance over the 4-day event is in excess of 30,000, with the majority attending on Saturday. 
    Saturday’s event is sold out.  
  • The Lexington Opera House will host five performances of Broadway Live’s Something Rotten! on Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, 1:30pm and 6:30pm. 
     600-700 are expected to attend each show.


According to Bill Owen, President and CEO of Lexington Center, “People should plan to arrive early and allow extra time to find a parking spot. Parking is available at the Rupp lot on High Street but patrons may have to seek alternative spots.” Paid Parking ($10 a car) at the High Street will be in effect all day. There is no parking available in the Manchester Lot behind Rupp Arena. For more information, contact the Lexington Center, (859) 233-4567 or www.lexingtoncenter.com
