Box Office Representative

The Box Office Representative is required to work weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends, and holidays, as required in a busy and dynamic working environment.  Position must learn, understand and operate the computerized ticketing systems(TM Host and Archtics); know and understand the complete layout of each event and its seating chart; deal knowledgeably and pleasantly with the public on the telephone and in person; account for all tickets sold and monies received from ticket sales at the end of each shift.

Changeover/Conversion Crew

This position shall perform a multitude of physical tasks to maintain, changeover, and clean the facility. The work requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs. on a regular basis. This position will work different schedules based upon event activity. The position reports to the Crew Supervisor and the Operations Manager.

Electrical/Mechanical Repair Technician

Will have primary responsibility for providing skilled electrical and mechanical maintenance support to the Lexington Center building complex, Opera House and performing basic to complex electrical installations and wiring for events and trade shows. Light to moderate plumbing, general building repair and maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair on machinery.

Exhibitor Services

1. General office duties, including but not limited to: answering phones, e-mail correspondence, filing, preparing documents, etc. 

2. Providing exhibitor services as needed both in the office and at service desks. This includes the following: 

  • Assisting exhibitors and answering their questions via phone, email or in person at the service desk. 
  • Entering, processing payments for & filing exhibitor pre-orders received via, phone, fax or e-mail. 
  • Working Service Desks for events. This includes assisting customers, entering and processing payments for onsite orders as well as directing exhibitors to their booth and answering any other questions they may have. The service desk will also involve communicating with clients and coordinating client needs to the event coordinator and other departments as needed. 
  • ES Rep. will also be responsible for communicating exhibitor needs to Lexpo as well as other departments via radio, phone or printed work order. 
  • Exhibitor registration, and badge printing. 
  • Oversee the shipping/receiving/checking-in/processing of incoming and outgoing exhibitor freight shipments for events. 

3. Communicates via the company’s multi line phone and 2-way radio systems. 

4. Issues and processes exhibitor contracts and information for the annual KY Sport, Boat and Recreation Show. This includes preparing and e-mailing out contracts and information packets, processing payments, recording payments and communicating exhibitor information to the clients and accounting.

Finance Internship

  • Work with current finance team to streamline day-to-day processes, including but not limited to accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Assist department with any required tasks, including restocking supplies, making copies, completing bank runs, etc.
  • Participate in research projects to help increase the understanding of live event cost assumptions
  • Maintain a presence in meetings and team activities regarding upcoming events and always see if there is something you can do, learn or drive

This position will support the marketing team with creating, distributing, and designing resources for the programs and events to ensure the success of Central Bank Center, Lexington Opera House and Rupp Arena initiatives. This role will work in lockstep with the venue teams: marketing, sales, events, and booking.

Grounds Crew

Will have primary responsibility for assisting the Supervisor Grounds and Utilities in maintaining the grounds of the LCC complex, parking lots, providing grounds upkeep and snow removal from the adjacent sidewalks and park lots.  Will also perform minor electrical/mechanical repair and assist with general upkeep and maintenance of the building.

Primary responsibilities will be to welcome guests to the event, review and validate tickets upon entry, direct/escort guests to their seats in an efficient and professional manner and answer questions as requested.

Heating & Cooling Operations Technician

Will have primary responsibility for providing daily HVAC support to the Engineering Department that involves the daily operation and maintenance of the chilled water systems, hot water and associated systems for the Opera House and Lexington Center complex.

Human Resources Internship

  • Research, and collaborate to plan events for employee engagement and recognition.
  • Standardize and streamline HR/Organization processes and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with department managers to identify training needs and research training plans.
  • Work closely with departments to assess training events to ensure they are effective and informative for new hires and current staff.
  • Schedule and support the execution of onboarding and training for new employees.
  • Follow up with new employees to ensure successful onboarding to the organization.
  • Track new employee feedback for additional assessment and identify areas for improvement.

IT Internship

Under general supervision and OTJ education, identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems encountered by facility-wide users of various services; install, and troubleshoot networking cabling systems; install and configure network equipment; install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot a wide range of network and data communications software and hardware. The position includes the testing and troubleshooting of wiring problems.

National and Local Arts Manager

Responsible for the booking, contracting, event management, financial settlement and cultivating an on-going beneficial relationship with all national touring Broadway shows and local arts and non-profit organizations that will use the Opera House for their performances. Serves as the advocate for the local performing arts community; and champions community outreach to organizations, sponsors, and patrons. This candidate will also be required to assist in the sales of all sponsorships related to the Broadway season that is confirmed annually at the Opera House. Accountable for meeting the objectives of the mission of OVG/LCC, in tandem with the trust and support of the Opera House Fund. Must be an excellent communicator, and effectively coordinate operations with various OVG/LCC departments, 3rd party providers, and assigned staff. Manages all phases of the Opera House Fund subsidy program for local arts organizations. This candidate will also collaborate closely with the General Manager in all correspondence and reporting to the Opera House Fund board.

Security Officer – Full Time

This position will have the primary responsibility of maintaining security access and control to all areas of the Central Bank Center Complex. This will include making routine rounds throughout the entire complex, providing customer service to clients/patrons as they arrive on the complex and assisting with all incidents as they may arise.

Stage Security Officer

Employee are assigned to the Security Safety Risk Management Department and reports to part-time Supervisors who reports to the SSRM Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager of the department via the sections chain of command supervises all personnel. Officer will perform duties assigned as related to the event in regards to the overall security, safety of the employees, guests and clients.

Technical Services Internship

  • Work alongside Technical Coordinators in the planning, advancing, and execution of technical requirements for upcoming and current shows and events.
  • Assist department with any required tasks, including moving and setting up equipment in various locations within the complex in preparation for upcoming or current shows and events.
  • Assist Technical Coordinators in installation, operation, and maintenance of theatrical systems such as lighting rigs, PA systems, complex video IMAG systems, entertainment and theatrical rigging as well as some building systems such as scoreboards, electronics message displays, security key control, etc.
  • Assist in permanent installations of technical equipment around the complex.
  • Maintain a presence in meetings and team activities regarding upcoming events and always see if there is something you can do, learn or drive
  • Write up reports based on your experiences at the facility and offer recommendations about what you would change about our operation’s intern program
  • Be willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
