Ticket Seller - Box Office

Company: Rupp Arena / Lexington Center / Opera House

Salary Range: $10.00 to $12.50

Position Summary:


Ticket Seller is responsible for selling event tickets in person, via telephone, and through the mail.  Must also handle subscription ticket sales and renewals.  Must provide accurate information to the public in person or via telephone on any LCC ticketed events.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Provides information to patrons regarding performances and ticket policies.
  2. Performs the daily work activities for the box office.
  3. Operates and maintains telephone, cash register, copier and other office equipment.
  4. Utilizes Ticketmaster software to process ticket sales.
  5. Operates computer ticketing system.
  6. Handles money and make change accurately and efficiently.
  7. Assists in performing administrative and other duties as assigned.


Additional/Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Maintains appropriate department files and records to ensure consistency and correctness of information.
  • Special Projects as needed or requested.




  • Experience in ticketing would be helpful but not required.

Job Related Experience:

Job Related Experience:


Experience working with the general public on a daily basis.  Also experience in handling money.

  1. Must have ability to work as part of a team.
  2. Must have good organizational and planning skills.
  3. Must be able to coordinate and handle several tasks concurrently.
  4. Must have flexibility to work nights, weekends, and irregular hours.

The ideal candidate should also possess:


  1. Ability to deal with people in a professional and efficient manner.
  2. Ability to follow instructions, handle cash, credit card and related ticketing transactions.
  3. Ability to work in a closed environment with others for extended periods of time.

Physical Requirements:


  • Requires a full range of body motions including seeing and hearing to normal range.
  • Job requires routine standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, speaking, hearing and visually checking work assignments in progress and those that have been completed.
  • Frequently works under stressful working conditions, irregular hours and tight time deadlines.


Working Conditions:


Work is performed in an enclosed office environment.


Licensure, Certification:


Valid driver’s license.
